Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer

The elemental analyzer ELEMENTRAC CS-i (ELTRA) measures the carbon (C) and sulfur (S) concentration within samples. Samples are weighed into ceramic crucibles with the addition of accelerator. The samples are heated to temperatures of >2000℃ for complete decomposition and a stream of pure oxygen is supplied to the sample. The carbon and sulfur released from the sample are converted to CO2 and SO2. The gas is taken to 4 infrared (IR) cells that accurately measure the amount of C/S. The 4 IR cells measure low and high concentrations of C/S. Carbon and sulfur speciation can have many metallurgical and environmental implications. These elements are often used as geochemical indicators.
