Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC)
What is Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC)?
CIC performs automated qualitative and quantitative analysis of halogens (i.e. F, Cl, Br, I), which are often environmental indicators and can be used to better understand the chemistry of fluorite, halite or saline deposits. The Profiler-F Analyzer is optimized for Fluoride (F) and Chloride (Cl) analysis. The samples are introduced into a horizontal furnace and then decomposed in oxygen at high temperatures (880-1100°C). Volatile products are trapped in aqueous absorbing solution. Samples in the absorption solution are transferred to the IC system to determine the concentrations of individual halides.
